Dow Corning and Hemlock Semiconductor Group Sites Announce Scholarship Program
for Saginaw County High School Students
The Dow Corning Healthcare Industries Materials Site and Hemlock
Semiconductor Group believe that quality education is critical to the future
well-being of the mid-Michigan community and Dow Corning. The two
Hemlock-based Dow Corning chemical manufacturing sites are interested in
supporting educational activities encouraging educational pursuits in
mathematics, science, and the skilled trades.
Beginning in May 2006, fifteen one-time nonrenewable $1,000 scholarships
will be given to fifteen graduating high school seniors, one at each of the
Saginaw County's public high schools. These scholarships will be available
annually. The scholarships are administered through the Dow Corning
Healthcare Industries Materials Site and Hemlock Semiconductor. The 2006
eligible Saginaw County public high schools are:

Applicants for the scholarships should exhibit a demonstrated interest and
excellence in mathematics, science, or skilled trades as well as a desire to
pursue a career path in a related area. Applicants must be graduating seniors
and have spent his or her entire senior year at one of the Saginaw County
public high schools (residency of Saginaw County is not required). Scholarship
winners will be based on merit. The application deadline is May 9.
