Responsible Care

Neighborhood Gathering – At Hemlock Semiconductor, we recognize the concerns and values of our neighbors. Often, we invite our nearest neighbors for dinner and tours of our facilities. This gives us the opportunity to share information about our operations, safety and environmental initiatives, and future development and expansion plans.

Community Connection Newsletter – The Community Connection Newsletter is published biannually and includes a letter from the Site Manager on current issues, safety and environmental topics, and articles of possible interest to our neighbors and community.

Hemlock Sawdust Days – As part of our dedication to Responsible Care® and public education, Hemlock Semiconductor is an active supporter and participant in the local Hemlock Sawdust Days festivities, which celebrates the area’s logging and lumber history. Hemlock Semiconductor employees offer safety tips and advice such as the shelter-in-place disaster preparedness techniques.

Habitat for Humanity
After meeting with a very convincing team from Habitat for Humanity, Hemlock Semiconductor management and employees jumped in to help this worthwhile cause.

Hemlock Semiconductor employees framed, roofed, trimmed, and landscaped their first home in 13 days – a true “blitz build.” They went on to build a second home equally fast. Hemlock Semiconductor management fully supported the project by supplying the labor and equipment to make the build successful.Hemlock Semiconductor employees volunteer at the Habitat for Humanity build.

Supporting Hemlock Semiconductor’s efforts were volunteers from the Arnold Center, a non-profit community rehabilitation organization, which supplied the builders with onsite breakfast and lunch throughout the build.
