Hemlock Semiconductor Launches Next Round of CARE Grants Through Area Community Foundations

Local organizations have until Sept. 30 to apply in Bay, Midland and Saginaw counties

HEMLOCK, Mich. ― As part of its goal to improve the quality of life throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region, Hemlock Semiconductor Operation’s Community and Regional Empowerment (CARE) Fund is again accepting applications for up to $30,000 for local projects
and programs.

Schools, units of government and local groups with 501(c)(3) designation have until Wednesday, September 30, to apply for grants through the Bay Area Community Foundation, Midland Area Community Foundation or Saginaw Community Foundation. Applicants can receive up to $10,000 in funding for local programs, and up to $30,000 for regional programs. This is the third round of grants Hemlock Semiconductor (HSC) has offered through its CARE program.

“Our CARE program so far has helped area schools, museums, outreach programs and organizations such as Thomas Township Neighborhood Revitalization,” said Brooke Beebe, HSC vice president of external affairs. “We’re happy to partner with our local community foundations to get these dollars into worthy programs and hope many more groups and projects will apply.”

Grants will be provided to projects that align with HSC’s mission to improve the vitality and quality of life in communities where employees and their families work and play, supporting various projects and local programs.
