Meet Our Early Intervention Team
Ken DeAngelis
Ken joined ATI as an onsite Early Intervention Specialist (EIS) at HSC in June 2025. As an EIS, DeAngelis focuses on injury prevention, job coaching, and health and wellness education. Prior to working at HSC, DeAngelis served as the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine at his alma mater, Central Michigan University. Before the move back to Michigan, he served as Men’s Basketball Head ATC at Valparaiso University and Head Athletic Trainer at Purdue University Northwest. DeAngelis has also garnered clinical healthcare experience with PT clinics, Semi-Pro baseball, and collegiate internships. DeAngelis was a December 2009 graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine.
A native of AuGres, Mich., DeAngelis and his wife Chrissy have two sons, Sterling (avid Philadelphia Eagles fan) and Harrison (avid Kansas City Chiefs fan). DeAngelis lives with his wife and family in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. His hobbies include sports with the family, video games, reading, and watching shows/movies.
Erik Braun
Erik joined ATI as an onsite Athletic Trainer at HSC in June 2024. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Grand Valley State University in 2019, completing more than 1,000 hours of clinical rotations, including experience in the emergency room. Prior to joining HSC, Erik worked in professional sports with the Milwaukee Brewers and Houston Astros. He later supported the United States Army at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, serving as a civilian athletic trainer within the Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness Program. In this role, he worked directly with soldiers to treat musculoskeletal injuries, enhance physical performance, and recommend equipment changes to help reduce injury risk. At HSC, Erik supports both day and night shifts through injury prevention, pre‑shift stretching, employee care, and participation in safety and new hire meetings.
Outside of work, Erik enjoys spending time with his wife Meghan and their dog Maya. They love staying active, traveling, and trying adventurous foods. Erik has even tried fermented shark in Iceland. He has been weightlifting for 17 years, running consistently for six years, and is training with his wife to run a half marathon. A fun fact about Erik is that he was part of the medical staff when the Houston Astros won the World Series and received a championship ring.

This local partnership offers a collaborative approach to help address common employment barriers that impact the lives of our employees, their success and productivity. Employees who work with a success coach can meet individually and confidentially to troubleshoot outside personal problems that may impact work performance such as: time management, attendance issues, affordable childcare, reliable transportation, substance abuse, stable housing, stress management, budgeting and financial literacy. In some cases, PartnerShift Network may be able to assist employees with direct financial assistance for housing and transportation needs.
All services are confidential and FREE. PartnerShift will not share employee names or circumstances with HSC unless permission from the employee is granted.
