Eligibility & Access
Who is eligible to participate?
- All benefit eligible HSC employees.
- Spouses and domestic partners enrolled in an HSC medical plan.
If an employee is not enrolled in an HSC health plan, can they participate in the wellness program to earn points?
Yes, all benefit eligible employees are able to participate even if not enrolled in an HSC health plan.
How do I access the BetterLife program?
You can access the program by visiting hsc.adurolife.com or via the Aduro mobile app.
Account Activation
How do I activate my BetterLife account?
Employees
- Go to this webpage or tap Activate Account in the Aduro mobile app.
- Enter your first name, last name, birthdate, and either your employee ID or last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. Click next.
- Enter your work HSC email address, a secure password, your personal mobile number, and acknowledge you reviewed the terms of service and privacy policy.
- An email will be sent to your HSC email inbox to verify your account. Click the link in the email and you are ready to log into your BetterLife account.
Spouses/Domestic Partners
- Go to this webpage or tap Activate Account in the Aduro mobile app.
- Enter your first name, last name, birthdate, and the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. If your SSN is not in Aduro’s system, you can register by entering your spouse/partner’s employee ID with an “S” at the end (ex. 123456S). Click next.
- Enter your preferred personal email address, a secure password, your personal mobile number, and acknowledge you reviewed the terms of service and privacy policy.
- An email will be sent to your email inbox to verify your account. Click the link in the email and you are ready to log into your BetterLife account.
Can I change my email address after registration?
Yes, send an email to Aduro support (support@aduro.com) to request an email change. Provide the existing email and tell them what email you’d like to change it to.
Will my private health information be shared with HSC?
Aduro will not share any individual employee’s private health information with Hemlock Semiconductor. All data provided to us will be in aggregate form only, allowing us to better understand overall employee needs and identify opportunities for additional programs and support.

How do I get started?
After you have activated your account, click on View My Program in the upper right corner to learn more about what is available in the BetterLife program to support your overall health and well-being.
How do I sync a fitness device to my BetterLife account?
- Download the Aduro Mobile app (see above)
- Login with the email and password you registered your account with
- Tap the menu icon (3 stacked horizontal lines) in the upper right corner
- Tap Devices
- Tap Connect to either Apple Health, Google Fit, or Fitbit
- Follow the prompts on the next page to give permission for your data to be synced to your BetterLife account.
What is HSC’s policy regarding the use of mobile phone cameras for activities related to the BetterLife program?
Certain program activities may include using your phone’s camera, such as scanning QR codes to access additional resources and information about the BetterLife program. Please use your mobile device responsibly and be mindful of your surroundings and any workplace guidelines regarding camera use. Always respect the privacy of others and avoid capturing images of individuals or sensitive information without permission.
Rewards
Are there rewards for participation?
Yes! HSC employees can earn up to $600 in gift cards and spouses and domestic partners can earn up to $200 in gift cards.
Will I be taxed on rewards I earn by engaging in the BetterLife program?
Yes, per IRS guidelines, rewards earned by participating in the BetterLife program will be considered taxable income and will be processed through payroll. HSC will “gross up” the reward amount, which means they will cover the taxes so that the full reward value is received by the employee.
How do I earn gift cards?
You will earn points while engaging in activities, digital coaching programs, and one-on-one coaching with an Aduro Coach. Gift cards will be awarded when you complete Milestones and Levels in the BetterLife program and can be redeemed through Tango.
Program Details
What are Milestones?
The BetterLife program has 3 milestones; Start, Move, and tHRive. You must earn a minimum of 500 points when each milestone window is open to complete the milestone. When you complete a milestone, you will receive a $100 gift card. Spouses and domestic partners will receive a $50 gift card when they complete each milestone.
The milestone windows are as follows:
- Milestone 1| Start: March 1-June 30
- Milestone 2 | Move: July 1-September 30
- Milestone 3 | tHRive: October-December 31
What are Levels?
Completing a level is a way to reward you for consistent engagement in the BetterLife program. Your program has 1 level (Better Together), and to complete this Better Together level, you must earn a minimum of 1500 points and complete the Human Performance Assessment. When you complete this level, you will receive a $300 gift card. Spouses and domestic partners will receive a $50 gift card when they complete this level. You must complete Level 1 by December 31 to earn your final gift card.
How do I earn points in the BetterLife program?
There are several ways you can earn points in the BetterLife program. Your program includes activities, digital coaching programs called Paths, daily trackers, and one-on-one coaching with an Aduro Coach. See below for details:
- Activities: You will earn 25 points each week, month, or quarter when you engage in activities
- Digital Coaching 6-week Paths: You will earn 250 points when you complete a 6-week path.
- Digital Coaching Mini-Paths: You will earn 100 points when you complete a mini-path.
- Exercise Videos: You will earn 25 points when you complete a Les Mills exercise video.
- One-on-One Coaching Sessions: You will earn 150 points when you complete a live coaching session with an Aduro Coach.
- Other Activities: Be on the lookout for HSC activities throughout the year for additional opportunities to earn points!
NOTE: there are limits to the number of times you can earn points for activities, coaching paths and coaching sessions.
Do earned rewards expire?
Gift cards do not expire after you have redeemed them in your BetterLife account. It is strongly recommended to earn and redeem all gift cards before the program closes on December 31, 2026, to avoid missing out on receiving your earned rewards.
What happens to my earned rewards if I leave the company, either through termination or retirement?
If your employment at HSC changes due to termination, transfer, or retirement, all earned rewards must be redeemed before your last day of employment.
How do I sync a fitness device?
You can sync any fitness device to your BetterLife account through your Apple Health or Google Fit (Health Connect)

Coaching
What are one-on-one coaching sessions?
One-on-One or Live Coaching provides the ability for participants to connect with a live coach. One-on-one coaching sessions are done via phone (Zoom coming soon!) and are 30 minutes long. Other live coaching opportunities include workshops available throughout the year on a variety of topics and Coach Chat with your coach via the mobile app.
When can I meet with a one-on-one coach?
Aduro Coaches are available from 9am-9pm Eastern to support you in any part of your life that you need support.
How do I schedule an appointment with an Aduro Coach?
You can schedule an appointment by clicking on Coaching in the top right corner of your home page or the coaching tab at the bottom of the mobile app. Select the coach you’d like to make an appointment with, choose a date and time, enter your phone number to complete your appointment. You can also chat with your coach via the chat feature in the mobile app.
What is digital coaching?
Digital Coaching programs are self-paced and available in both the web application and mobile application. Participants can choose from a variety of topics they feel they need the most support in. Some programs can be completed in 6-weeks and others are “mini” programs that can be completed in 20-30 minutes.
