Reader thanks county fair youth, animal buyers

To the editor:

The Midland County Emergency Food Pantry Network is very grateful for the approximately 750 pounds of lamb and pork products (valued at approximately $4,500) donated by 10 businesses which purchased animals from youth at this year’s Midland County Fair auction. The packages of frozen meat will be distributed to people in Midland County who receive free food from the Network.

The buyers of animals raised by Midland County youth include Hemlock Semiconductor in Hemlock, Hutson Inc. in Linwood, Gordon Goodall in Sanford and John Bartos, Ace Hardware, Wilson Miller Funeral Home, Beauchamps Heating & Cooling, Draves Auto Center, Spherion Staffing and Feeny Chrysler in Midland.Thank you, youth and businesses, for your generosity and caring support of our ministry in Midland County to help us achieve our vision of “Always food in every home.” Any Midland County resident in need of food, personal care items and cleaning supplies is invited to call the Network at 989-486-9393 or 211 for an appointment at one of our eight pantries located throughout the county. Additional information about the Network can be found at www.midlandcountyefpn.org or on Facebook.
