Aetna Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Resources for Living is an employer-sponsored program, available at no cost to you and all members of your household. Children living away from home can access services up to age 26. Services ae confidential and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Once on the website, we encourage you to create your own personal log in so that you can personalize your experience.
Emotional wellbeing support
You can access up to 6 counseling sessions per issue each year. You can also call us 24 hours a day for the in-the-moment emotional well-being support.
Counseling sessions are available face-to-face, online with televideo, chat therapy or by phone. Services are free and confidential. We’re always here to help with a wide range of issues including:

Chat therapy
Send secure text messages to your counselor, who will respond within one working day up to five days a week. A week of texting counts as one session. Virtual Care (medical and mental health services) – BCBSM/Teladoc
Get care when you need it, wherever you are.
With Virtual Care by Teladoc Health®, you and everyone on your health plan can get virtual medical and mental health care from a smartphone, tablet or computer.
Virtual Care is included with your Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network health care plan.
24/7 care
Have a virtual visit with a U.S. board-certified doctor for minor illnesses such as colds, sore throats, urinary tract infections and pink eye. Visits are available for adults and children.
Medical visits are available 24/7, anywhere in the U.S., when your primary care provider isn’t available. You don’t need an appointment and the average wait time is 10 minutes. Prescriptions, if needed, can be sent to your preferred pharmacy.
Mental health
Through the Mental Health option, you can connect with a licensed therapist or U.S. board-certified psychiatrist when you’re dealing with stressful situations such as grief, anxiety and depression.
Mental health visits require an appointment, but many therapists and psychiatrists have evening and weekend availability.

Tobacco Cessation Coaching
Tobacco Cessation Coaching pairs you with an experienced coach who offers support personalized to your specific interests and needs. The same coach stays with you throughout your journey to quit. You can connect with your coach by phone or app. In addition to coaching, you’ll have access to:

Fitness Center at HSC
This facility is open to HSC employees only. This well-equipped gym is in the S12 building on the second floor and is open 24/7. The gym is outfitted with professional fitness/weight machines, free weights, cardio machines, and a separate fitness room with mats for stretching, yoga, or even fitness classes like P90X.
Employees are required to fill out a participant release and waiver acknowledgement form to use the facility. This form can be found in the HR portion of the HSC intranet site.
